A common dilemma in the society today is low self-esteem. There are certain moments in your daily life where looking in the mirror isn’t a lovely thing to do. There are also bad times when random strangers says something horrible (fat shames) about a picture you posted in a certain social media account. Some days like these can happen and it’s part of life. The modern age procures lots of pressure towards everybody and nobody escapes that especially now that social media is included. But, there are people who believe having low self-esteem is how their life should be lived. Instead of getting on with life after a hurtful commentary, they stick on the negative side of the things being told about them. And then later on, they will feel bad about themselves and start saying unhealthy comment about their lives.
Self-hate is a dangerous thing to harbor. It destroys the growing relationship you have with people around you and it sets a limitation to your capabilities as a person. People have to realize that wearing confidence is one of the best things to have, so letting confidence sink in is important. People with confidence have job opportunities lining up for them. In terms of relationships, confident people can adjust well to their partners.
For people with low self-esteem it’s a different story. They are likely to form bonds with an abusive person and stay in low income jobs. Indeed, the problem of having low self-esteem generates more problem. The life they’re living is not filled with happiness.
The Causes for Low Self-Esteem
The reasons why people have low self-esteem varies. Bad experiences in the past like abusive parents or some emotional trauma can lead to low self-esteem. Instability in the work place or the relationship with your partner can induce low self-worth and self-blame. Strengthening your self-esteem is one of the most efficient way to eliminate the bad vibes and self-destruction you feel around you. A boost in your morale and self-love is a practice that would help your growth as an individual.
How to Lift your Self-Esteem
Changes in your life doesn’t just appear out of nowhere, it grows with effort and time. Start the whole process by discovering yourself and seeking where the problem lies. Are your problems mostly about your body size and weight or is it about the way people comment things about you? Folks with low self-esteem are deemed to feel gratification from people around them. This is not good because the focus should be on the person’s wellness and health, and not on what other people are saying. If you are familiar to this situation, changes should be happening now.
You are a Person Worth Loving!
Before you do anything in the morning, take deep breaths and reflect on the fact that you are alive at that very moment. Reflect on the idea of being alive and that you are amazing. If your brain begins making up negative things, spin that around and change it into something positive. Instead of thinking about those negative thoughts, start exercising and walking a few minutes. Everybody has bad days and sad moments, but it should not be the center of everything. Remember to be kind to yourself and that somebody cares and loves you a lot.
